In situ installation. 2019 Sicilian oranges
Révélations is a poetic manifesto to energize and revitalize the places we occupy and shape.
During an artistic residency in the Botanical Garden of Palermo in Sicily, I was seduced by the way the place is maintained by the gardeners. So, I decided to intervene and have different spaces interact in the garden itself.
The site is activated with Sicilian oranges found on the garden floor to create color stimuli. This approach leads to spontaneous and sensitive arrangements of space, an exchange with the lines, the orthogonal plans of the place which contrast with the organic architecture of the trees. The smallest interstices and hollows are reached in order to connect us with the smallest endings.
The visitor is thus invited to cross the place and to feel the pulsations which emanate from this ecosystem. These points of tension become impulses of life, of regeneration which communicate with our spirit and activate our consciousness towards the spaces which we inhabit.
Révélations is embodied in sensitive acupuncture, capable of both relieving, preventing and treating our inattention to the world and thus offering reconciliation and reconnection with it.
This project has been realized as part of the workshop “Tropical gardens and climate change” by the invitation of the artist Yann Toma in partnership with Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne University (The Sorbonne Sustainable Development department), the Academy of Fine Arts of Palermo and the Botanical Garden of Palermo.
